Artist statement

My work emerges from a sustained observation of water as a physical, visual, and symbolic space. In it, I find a universe in constant transformation, where light, movement, and reflection alter our perception of reality and reveal images that move between abstraction, surrealism, and realism.

Through painting, I establish a dialogue with the sea and its infinite mutations. I am interested in lingering on seemingly fleeting moments in order to explore the anatomy of waves, transparencies, foam, reflections, and the multiple forms that emerge on its surface. Each fragment becomes an autonomous territory, a visual experience in which the recognizable can transform into something ambiguous or unexpected.

Technically, my work begins with a photorealistic approach while incorporating a sensibility connected to the legacy of Impressionism in its relationship to light, perception, and the moment. However, my interest lies not simply in reproducing reality, but in exploring what remains hidden within it.

The sea has become my motif, fragment, beginning, and end: an immense presence that contains memory, transformation, and time. On its surface, I find a space where reality is continuously broken down and reconstructed, inviting us to discover new ways of contemplating what is visible.
